Finalising the Aircross acro glider
At the beginning of April I received one of the final acro protos from Aircross for testing and final timing. This 17 square meter “beast” called Uinfinite felt really nice right from the first flight, but it had little issues with the brakes and main line trimming. The center seemed to be flying a little bit too slow in Infinity tumbling, secondly with longer c, d cascade of lines the glider made nicer helico connections. The biggest challenge and the most time consuming was the brake line geometry trimming, were I made many changes and tried different things. After almost four weeks of testing and trimming with around 50 hours of airtime the trim was finalized. It was a tedious work, but now I am really happy with the glider.
Thanks to all this progress I decided to cooperate with Aircross and fly this glider on the World Cup competitions this year. In general the glider has very nice behavior while retaining high energy needed for all tricks. It has, in my opinion, perfect brake pressure that is not too soft, well defined in negative manoeuvres, but also not too hard for radical manoeuvres like McTwist. I feel that the brake range definition is a bit longer than on some other gliders, which is the only little negative point I see now. It is not a big problem, but it is something I would like to focus on for the 2015 model next year. If you can try it, you will love it!
