There are just a few places like Iquique. This town situated in the north of Chile is one of the driest places on earth. The climate is highly influenced by one of the major upwelling systems of the world – the Humboldt Current, which results un a super stable weather and an average of less than one rainy day a year. Ideal for flying? Yes, it is possible to fly almost every day and the best season for acro and XC pilots is the European Autumn – Chilean spring. Flying spots around the city Iquique have both crosscountry, freestyle as well as groundtraining training possibilities thanks to soft sand and good winds.

Visiting Chile was not easy for me and I had to overcome many difficulties including very high travel costs. In the end it was worth it and my stay was a blast! This experience was also enhanced by the amazing IQQ community. I will come back, see you soon!
